Condemnation - Cain and Abel
by Deena Skolnick
I was sitting by the fire
After he had gone away,
That blood-red pyre
That held my soul in sway.
The light of adoration
Kindled anger in my heart,
As the rush of new creation
Tore the sacrifice apart.
We toppled from the hill,
Sin howling at the door,
The throbbing envy spilled
And the fire was no more.
The smoke is crying as the portal slammed,
And the fire is quenched in the depths of the damned.
Salvation - Joseph
I was waiting in the thunder
After He had left my dreams,
A single pang of wonder.
Nothing else was as it seems.
And the light of loss of sorrow
Ripped the prison walls to shreds
As my face turned to tomorrow
A voice inside me said:
"Do not fear damnation
Nor the fire in your soul.
You will live to see salvation
And achieve your highest goal."
Though now I am a servant, here's my antidote:
The dawn of His promise is my colored coat.
